I.M.A. Dan Testing & Summer Potluck

On June 18, many of I.M.A. Jr. and Sr. students and black belts from Honbu dojo and other branches will get together for another black belt testing experience.

Many years of hard work and dedication will award each one of these dedicated karate-ka to achieve next level of their progress. The testing will start at 8:30am and will last several hours.

All I.M.A. members and their families are invited to join us for a potluck celebration in the afternoon at the below address:

Rocky Mountain Championship: Another Great Event!

Thank you for everyone’s support of the 15th anniversary of the Rocky Mountain Championship and USA Karate National Qualifier.

The Referee Course was held on May 14th with over 30 participants and the competition had almost 300 participants from 10 different states across the country! The competition started at 9:00am sharp at Monarch High School and thanks to countless hours of work done by volunteers and officials, was wrapped up by 5:00pm. The presence of three members of USA Karate’s Referee Committee and many international officials enforced the quality and fairness of the competition.

I.M.A. Competition Team is heading to Las Vegas

The I.M.A. Competition Team is ready to represent I.M.A. in Las Vegas after several months of extra training. Thousands of karate competitors from all over the world will gather on the Easter Weekend in Las Vegas to compete in two of the most prestigious competitions in America. The Jr. Olympics and US Open championship promise to bring lots of good competition in this coming weekend.

We wish all I.M.A. competitors good luck and look forward to hear about their success upon their return.

Successful Karate Seminar at IMA Utah

On April 1 and 2 of 2011, Hanshi Madani traveled to Utah to help celebrate the opening of IMA Utah’s new Dojo and to lead a special Shotokan Karate Seminar to students and instructors.

Hanshi’s 2-day seminar focused on helping students learn how to generate maximum power and speed in karate techniques and how to develop explosive movements in both kata and kumite.

After the seminar, there was a potluck picnic for all participants and everyone agreed that the seminar was a great success and a lot of fun.

15th Annual Rocky Mountain Championship, May 14-15, 2011

Please join us for the 16th anniversary of the Rocky Mountain International Championship, hosted and sponsored by IMA Karate.

The competition will be held on May 6, 2012, at Monarch High School in Louisville, Colorado, USA.

In Addition to the tournament, we will be hosting a referee seminar (with
certification) on May 5, 2012. The seminar will be conducted by Fariba Madani a member of the USA Karate Referee Committee and a member of World Karate Federation Referee Commission.
