Shout out and welcome home to Kamran Madani from Curacao for his fine performance and winning
bronze medal in the XXXI senior Pan American Karate championship!
The latest Pan American championship had a record-breaking number of competitors from over 30
countries. Kamran, who defeated Canada and Curacao, but lost to his opponent from the Dominican
Republic, faced Argentina for his bronze medal match. Although the fighter from Argentina had several
more years of experience in senior competitions and was a multiple medalist in many international
competitions, Kamran didn’t hold anything back and, in a very intense flight and right before the buzzer
of the end of the match, scored a jodan punch and defeated his opponent 3-2 and took bronze!
IMA is proud of his dedication and fine performance at the 2017 Sr. Pan American Championship in
Curacao this past weekend and wish him many more successes in the years to come!
