Wrestling Dropped from 2020 Olympic Program – The K is on the Way?

As reported on numerous news sites, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently voted to remove wrestling from the list of sports that will be featured in the 2020 Summer Olympics, opening up the way to potentially have karate be added to the list of 27 other sports, for a maximum of 28. The list of eight sports seeking inclusion in the 2020 Games are baseball/softball, karate, squash, roller sports, sport climbing, wakeboarding, wushu (a Chinese martial arts sport) and now wrestling. A reminder to everyone that the IMA Dojo in Louisville will be closed for the holidays starting Monday, December 24th and will re-open for all classes on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Happy holidays from everyone at IMA!

IMA Holiday Party This Saturday Night, December 1st @ 6pm

Come one, come all… Join us this Saturday, December 1st, for an evening of fun and friendship (and, of course, some dancing) at IMA’s annual holiday party! Everyone is welcome to bring a dish to share; it can be a main dish, an appetizer or dessert. IMA will be providing the drinks and, as every year, Sensei Madani will be cooking a turkey! We will have entertainment from the dojo members (the talent show is always a lot of fun) and end the evening with dancing. Annual IMA Picture Day – Tuesday, November 13th

Steven Hoffer Photography will be at the dojo from 5-7pm on Tuesday November 13th to take photos of all students. In addition to being able to order individual photo packages, we will continue our tradition of having a photo collection made of all of the individual students’ photos to hang in the dojo. It takes less than 2 minutes to have your photo taken but parents and/or students must sign-up for a time slot at the front desk to reserve a time.
